Six Steps in Deciding How to Proxri

How do you proxri? The homepage gave a brief intro, and below you’ll find six steps you can follow. But before that, more about why.

Why Bother?

Proxri can create more lively proximities, and in doing so, better lives. But what is a proximity? Basically, it’s the people and things related to whatever situation you’re dealing with at the moment. Proxri are one of the four processes of the ProxThink Growth Model. When implemented together, the processes have the effect of transforming a proximity into something more like an element (more of a concrete thing), or more like a person. This transformation makes it easier to relate to a proximity, which makes for more lively proximities and better lives.

Quick Definitions

Here are the quick basics. For more, see the links.

  • Situation — A situation is whatever you are dealing with or considering.
  • Element — Loosely, an element can be anything. Any person, place, thing, idea, feeling, time, group, relationship, situation, proximity, etc. It’s whatever you are considering for the moment as a separate thing.
  • Proximity — The proximity consists of elements related or potentially related to your situation in physical, mental and other ways.
  • Growth Model — For people who share a proximity, the four processes of the ProxThink Growth Model have the effect of transforming a proximity into something more like an element or more like a person, thus making it easier to relate to the proximity. Proxri and ProxMonitors are two of the four processes of the growth model.
  • Proxri — A proxri (pronounced prox’ree), short for ProxReward, is a reward which relates elements in the proximity. As such, it’s often a reward made with the proximity in mind. Proxri may include money, things, services, relationships, actions, etc. You can use the word proxri as both singular and plural (for both a ProxReward and ProxRewards).
  • ProxMonitorProxMonitors increase awareness, appreciation and/or understanding of the proximity, and can be technological and/or human-based. ProxMonitors can help people relate to proximities, and help people decide on proxri.

How to Proxri — Brief Intro — (Proxri Deal)

How do you proxri? As introduced on the homepage, basically you consider the proximity, including your benefits, your circumstances, the other party’s circumstances (see note below), and some wider context (such as related people and circumstances), and then proxri as appropriate. This is sometimes called a Proxri Deal. The next section provides steps you can follow.

Notes about the term other party:
While the other party (as in the other party’s circumstances) typically means another person in the proximity of a shared situation, it could also mean a few other things. It could mean a subgroup of people in the shared situation, or all of the people in the shared situation. It could also mean some element or elements in the proximity. It could even mean the proximity itself, meaning for example, you want to proxri the proximity for some benefits it has provided you, or to make sure the proximity continues to survive and thrive, for yourself and others.

How to Proxri — Six Steps

Consider the proximity of the situation:
1) Consider your enjoyment and benefits. Have you been helped, engaged, enlivened, etc.?
2) Consider your circumstances. Are you able to provide a reward?
3) Consider the other party’s circumstances. They may share their circumstances with you via their ProxMonitor (you may need to look for it, or ask for a link to it). However, you may need to ask about their circumstances, or try to determine some things about their circumstances via observations or other clues and information. As mentioned above, the other party might be a person, a group of people, some element or elements in the proximity, and/or the proximity itself.
4) If relevant, consider the people who helped you become aware of the other party and/or the proximity of the situation. These people may deserve proxri too. Consider their circumstances as well.
5) Consider the circumstances of the wider world beyond the people in points 1 through 4 above.

The next step is to proxri:
6) If, based on your considerations above, you want to proxri, then do so. If you want to proxri those who helped you become aware of the other party and/or the proximity of the situation, or the wider world related to this situation, do that too. Since proxri may include money, things, services, relationships, actions, etc., you may be able to proxri them directly, or you may need to find out how you can communicate and/or provide your proxri.
